Noel is Emeritus Professor of AI and Robotics University of Sheffield, co-director of the Foundation for Responsible Robotics and chair elect of the NGO. He has lectured across a wide range of subjects from philosophy, and psychology to robotics and art and held research and teaching positions at Yale, Stanford, Exeter and Essex. Noel is known for his pioneering work on neural computing and genetic algorithms as well as writing articles for national newspapers and for being head judge on Robot Wars. Noel is particularly concerned with the ethical/legal/human rights issues in robot applications and believes that getting it right with robots is getting it right with humanity.
